The second round of the CCM RACING IRISH MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP took place at Doon MX Park Sunday May 25th. The track was in perfect condition and ready for all the top contenders to do battle.
Stuart Edmonds, Team Mad Dog CCR Suzuki MX1 rider came away with all 3 wins in the premier class with 3 superb rides. After struggling to find his groove in qualifying Stuart came from 6th on the first lap to take the top spot in race one with 2 laps to go and the crowd cheering him on all the way. In Moto 2 he led every lap and pulled out a comprehensive lead before the chequered flag.
Race 3 another top 5 start and Stuart had to work his way through the pack before taking the win ahead of Wayne Garrett.
Stuart Edmonds – (MX1 #9) said, “It was good to get 3 wins today. We have had some ups and downs this year but are all working hard to get back on the right track to where we need to be. The crowds were great today and felt good to have some cheering behind me. Hopefully we can move forward from this and pick up some good results in the next British Championship race. I would like to thank all my sponsors and everyone who helped me over the weekend“
Jordan Dunne struggled in the MX2 class with some bad starts and a few spills! The young rider is making improvements and working hard. He came away with tenth overall in only his second outing in the premier adult class.
Jordan reflected on his perfomance, “Thanks to everyone for working hard over the weekend. I need to have a bit of luck and work on a few areas and will see my results coming soon”
(we know its going to come Jordo) Well done to both of you. MD
