After the last round at Doon, near Athlone three weeks ago, the Premier MX1 Class is led by Dubliner Stuart Edmonds on his Mad Dog CCR Suzuki 450, trailed by 5 points by Combers Wayne Garrett on his Mullan MX/Spratt Electrics/Watt KTM 350, with fellow KTM mounted Richard Bird from Lisburn is only 2 points off Garrett on his Five 5 Motorsport /Watt machine.
On a Sunny day at the north Armagh circuit Tandragee the third round of the Irish championship was held last Saturday. The track was in perfect condition for all the riders to go bar to bar for the day.
In race 1 Stuart stalled at the start and pushing to catch up on the slippy track dropped the bike. After remounting and pushing through he made his way up to second place. Wayne took the first win closing the gap to only a few points.
In race 2 Stuart got the holeshot and pulled a gap on the rest of the field, taking a comfortable win.
Race 3 was more of the same. He got a holeshot and led every lap until the chequered flag taking another win and extending his lead at the top of the championship. He will go to the fourth round still with the red plate and to the next round of the British Championship fired up and ready to break back into the top bunch.
